Staff Member 1990-2010 & Hon. OW

At Wycliffe:
In 2010, Rebecca took early retirement from her main position of PA to the Head of Wycliffe College (then, Margie Burnet) having been appointed 21 years earlier, as PA to the College Bursar, then Colonel John Kendall.
Rebecca was famed for her efficiency, complete unflappability and for the incredible amount of detailed information about the school that she held at her fingertips. It was therefore not unsurprising that when the then Head of Wycliffe College, David Prichard was looking for a new PA, he should go for a known quantity who had already served Wycliffe so well.
She loyally served three Heads in total, through sometimes very difficult periods when all her knowledge, tact and skill were much in demand.
The redesign of School House in the early 2000s placed Rebecca physically in
the role of Wycliffe’s ‘guardian’, stationed in the Reception area, welcoming visitors, dealing with enquiries and tradespeople, parents, pupils, OWs and members of staff – particularly those who wanted to know ‘what’s up?’ or ‘who’s up?’ – in addition to all her work for the Head, arranging the packed diary and dealing with complaints and enquiries.
